Choosing the right pet memorial

After the passing of a beloved pet, you may find it difficult to decide which pet memorial would be the most appropriate way to show your love and respect for the time you have shared together. Immediately after the loss when you are still trying to adjust to your pet no longer being physically with you, making this decision may seem overwhelming. At Pets Remembered, help is always on hand to talk through the options with you, ensuring you make the choice which is right for you, whether this is a pet casket, memorial plaque or a beautiful pet urn.

Firstly it would be helpful to decide how you would prefer to memorialise your pet companion. You may choose to have an individual cremation, respectfully carried out with the dignity deserved at a Pet Crematorium, enabling you to keep the ashes in a tasteful memorial urn inscribed with their name, or scattered in a special place.

If family members are involved in choosing the best way to mark a final farewell at the end of your pet's journey, talking through the options often brings everyone together and enables a sharing of thoughts and feelings. It also ensures that no one will feel left out in the important decision-making and avoids disappointment if their wishes are overlooked. Children in particular a likely to find the loss of a pet not only upsetting but also confusing. Involving a young person in the memorialising, helps them to accept that this is natural part of the cycle of life and that unconditional love can last forever, even when the pet is no longer physically present.

If a simple burial ceremony is preferred, a pet memorial stone engraved with the name and a prayer or special tribute, will mark the laying to rest of an animal companion who is now at peace. Children can be encouraged to visit the grave to leave flowers or a special message, in celebration rather than in sorrow for a pet who will never be forgotten.

Pets Remembered will guide you through all the memorial options, enabling you to choose a lasting and fitting tribute for your much loved pet.   For more information visit our website or call 03333 443 491
